Mission Statement
Gathering Artists of Putnam aspires to showcase visual artists and artisans of Putnam County, promote a visionary community spirit, and become a creative force in the revitalization of the city of Palatka and Putnam County through the arts.
About Us
Gathering Artists Of Putnam (GAP) started as a grassroots campaign beginning with local artists with the encouragement of the mayor of Palatka, in September, 2023. It quickly blossomed into an active and committed group of local artists who wanted to share their work with the community, and local business owners, patrons, and community members who enthusiastically supported them.
The group evolved into an LLC and Art Cooperative in May, 2024 and started showing art in vacant stores downtown in donated, or reduced cost spaces.
The GAP has now found a permanent home at the Larimer Arts Center along with RiverCity Players and The Arts Alliance of Putnam. We strive to introduce art to our community through collaborations with local businesses, art in vacant buildings and monthly opening receptions.
Members
We now have 37 Members artists, approximately 18 of whom are participating in the Melrose Bay Gallery Show for July. I will attach a group photo from our last Exhibit, titled Black and White.
